A trip to Mount Kailash and Manasarovara Lake is an exciting spiritual experience. The Mount Kailash along with the holy Manasarovara Lake is an integral part of spiritual Asia. Mt. Kailash is sacred to the Hindus, Buddhists, Jains and the Bonpos taken as the centre of the physical and metaphysical universe. For the Hindus, the mountain represents the abode of Shiva. For the Buddhists, a terrestrial projection of the cosmic Mandala of Dhyani Buddhas and Boddhisatvas which represents the Wheel of Life.

Day 01Arrive at Tribhuban International Airport, Kathmandu (1335m/4379ft) - Pick up from the airport and transfer to the HotelThe trek/tour guide or/and our airport representative holding AUTHENTIC ADVENTURES sign-board and group name-list will greet you at the Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu and transfer you to the Hotel on our private vehicle which takes about 30 minutes from the airport. After refreshments, s/he will take you to our office based in downtown Thamel for some welcome drinks, paper works and introduction with the crew. The leader/guide will brief about the trip/ trek.
Day 02Chinese Visa Processing & Kailash Mansarovar Tour PreparationChina Visa proceed, yatra briefing by tour leader, Manager and Temple tour in Kathmandu.
Day 03Kathmandu Valley SightseeingToday, we will visit three spots in Kathmandu valley of historical, cultural and religious importance which are also the UNESCO Wolrd Heritage Sites. We first visit Kathmandu Durbar Square, and observe old palaces, beautiful temples and have a quick glimpse of the Living Goddess “Kumari.” After exploring the historical, religious and cultural center on Kathmandu we will take short drive of about 20 minutes to the Swoyambhunath Stupa, which is popularly known as the Monkey’s Temple as many hundreds of monkeys hang around the temple and amuse the visitors. Monkey’s Temple is situated atop a hill which is believed to have self-existed and its hill top location provides great view down the city and also the Himalayas in a clear day. Then, we drive to another ancient town of Patan and explore its people and their art, culture, tradition and lifestyle. Observing beautifully decorated age old temples and monasteries, we may also have a chance to have a personal audience with the Patan Kumari (Living Goddess). Patan is famous for its temples, fine arts, metal works, stone & wood carvings. We can witness local artists working on their workshops. Patan used to be separate kingdom from Kathmandu and Bhaktapur and different kings ruled this ancient city until the 17th century. There has been little damages at the above sites by the recent earthquake but still beautiful and definitely worth a visit. The renovation is going on most of these sites.
Day 05Drive from Kathmandu to Timure (1815m/5960ft)) via Shyabrubesi 150 km/ 6-7 hours' drive Take a drive from Kathmandu to Timure, near the Nepal-China Border. The drive take about 6-7 hours and it goes along the mountain trails with scenic beauty natural scenarios.
Day 06Complete Nepal China Immigration and drive to Kerung (2800m/9190ft) 38KM/1.5 hours’ driveComplete the Nepal and China immigration process and meet the Tibetan Guide and Driver. Take a short drive to Kerung.
Day 07Acclimatization day in KerungAcclimatize in Kerong before further driving. Free afternoon look around.
Day 08Drive from Kerung to Saga (4450m/14600ft) 232KM/ 5-6 hours’ drive First day with a long drive on the desert terrain. Driving past nomad camps and sheep and yak herds. We can see Gaurishankar, Shishapangma and Langtang Himal from the pass. Continue drive through Khunmen Tso, Sinling, Karru Ongchen and Peiku tso Lake (4400m). We will be crossing river Brahmaputra ( “Yarling Tsangpo” in Tibetan ) to reach Saga.
Day 09Drive from Saga to Mansarovar (4600m/15090ft) via Paryang (4550m/14930ft) 507 km 8-9 hours' driveWatching the mountains in distance and driving through road we pass through the small town of Zhongba before reaching to Paryang.. Offering the first view of mt kailash and the holy lake only after several hours of drive. As you approach this serene and sacred lake, historic Chiu Monastery becomes visible on the North West shore of the lake. From this vantage point, you can have a glimpse of majestic Mount Kailash. Manasarovar , the highest fresh water lake with turquoise complexion – surrounded by mt Kailash, Mt. Gurula-Mandata and Lake Rakchyas is simply heavenly.
Day 10Drive from Mansarovar to Darchen (4670m/15320ft) 40km/ 1.5 hours' driveAfter some peaceful hours at the shores of the sacred Lake Manasarovar with the snowy massif of Gurla Mandhata 7694m just across the lake, we drive 40 km to Darchen which serves as the base for Mt kailashkora ( circumambulation). The Kora is 52 km in total and completed in three days.
Day 11Trek from Darchen to Dirapuk (4860m/15940ft) via Yama Dwar 18KM/ 6-7 hours' trekIt is one of the exciting days walking along the beautiful rocky cliffs and waterfalls with some clouds in the clear blue sky. The 18 km trail takes almost 6-7 hours.
Day 12Day Hike to Kailash Charan Sparsha & Touch KailashToday is optional day for Kailash Charan Sparsh Trek. Touching the feet of Mt. Kailash from north side. It is a day trop to return from Dirapuk
Day 13Trek from Dirapuk to Zuthulpuk via Dolma La Pass (5670m/18600ft) 22KM/ 7-8 hours' trekHardest but Holiest day of your pilgrimage trek , cross Dolma La pass at 5670 m. Once you reach the top, just do the holiest offering and sit down for meditation to forget you. By the late afternoon you will arrive at Zuthul Puk where the great ascetic Milerappa is supposed to have performed miracles.
Day 14Trek from Zuthulpuk to Darchen (4670m/15320ft) 12km/ 3-4 hours' trek We trek from Zuthulpuk to Darchen and complete the Kailash Outer Kora on foot.
Day 15Drive back from Darchen to Saga (4450m/14600ft) 547 km 10-12 hours' driveWe drive back to Saga along the Mansarovar Lake and stayovernight in Saga.
Day 16Drive from Saga to Kerung (2800m/9190ft) 232KM/ 5-6 hours’ drive Return journey to Kerung via High pass you will get in low altitude area and greenery. Stay night at Kerung it will be last night in Tibet-China.
Day 17Cross China-Nepal Border and drive back to Kathmandu (1335m/4379ft) 188KM/ 8-9 hours' driveDriving further to Nepal Tibet border, complete the immigration formalities. It takes 7-8 hours drive from border to Kathmandu.
Day 18Free Day in Kathmandu for some sightseeing, shopping & Spiritual activities You can enjoy a leisure day in Kathmandu.
Day 19Drop to the Airport for Farewell and DepartureYour adventure in Nepal comes to an end today! A representative from Authentic Adventures will drive you to the airport approximately 3 hours before your outbound flight. On your way home you'll have plenty of time to plan your next adventure in the wonderful country of Nepal.
