Show AllTsum Valley Trek: A Hidden Himalayan Sanctuary
The Tsum Valley Trek is a culturally rich and spiritually powerful journey through one of Nepal’s most secluded Himalayan valleys. Nestled in the northeastern part of the Gorkha district, near the border of Tibet, Tsum Valley remained a restricted area until 2008. This isolation has helped preserve its ancient Buddhist culture, unique dialect, art, and architecture.
The trek takes you through traditional villages like Chumling, Chhokangparo, and Nile, where locals still follow Tibetan Buddhist practices. You’ll visit historic monasteries such as Mu Gompa and Rachen Gompa, set against a backdrop of snow-capped peaks like Ganesh Himal, Sringi Himal, and Baudha Himal.
Unlike the crowded Annapurna or Everest trails, Tsum Valley offers tranquility, untouched nature, and a deep sense of spiritual connection. The trail follows the Budhi Gandaki River, climbing gradually through pine forests, terraced fields, and hidden gorges.
The trek typically takes 12 to 14 days, is moderate in difficulty, and requires a special restricted area permit along with the Manaslu Conservation Area Permit (MCAP). A guide is mandatory.
Tsumm Valley Trek is ideal for trekkers seeking cultural depth, remoteness and a sacred Himalayan atmosphere. The Tsum Valley is truly a hidden gem of Nepal.

 Physical Condition & Experience Requirements
Everest Base Camp Trek is a moderate to strenous trek suitable for passionate walkers who have the ability to walk at least 5 to 7 hours a day with a light rucksack. In some days we might even need to walk for 7 to 8 hours. Walking in higher altitude is more physically demanding than walking in the lower altitudes; however, if we are in excellent health with average physical fitness, have a positive attitude and strong determination, we can accomplish the trek successfully. Exercising and jogging regularly is good idea to enhance our strength and stability. Past hiking experience would be an asset but no technical skill is required for this trip. Participants with pre-existing medical conditions such as heart, lung and blood diseases should inform Authentic Adventures before booking the trek. We also recommend that you consult your doctor before the trip.
 Best Months to Travel
Spring (March to May) and Autumn (October and November) are the best months for this trip. Although this trip can be done throughout the year. However, during winter, the cold temperature might not be suitable for everyone and during monsoon, the trails are a bit wet and the views are not always clear.
